Terms of Service
Service Description
The Platform is a marketplace that connects campers with campsite owners. We do not provide camping services directly, nor do we manage or operate any campsites. Our role is to facilitate communication and booking between users of the Platform.
By using the Platform, you agree to our Terms of Service and any applicable policies. We may update these terms from time to time, and we encourage you to review them regularly.
Fees — Who Pays What
Campsite ownerspay zero commission on booking revenue. The only fees charged to owners are optional subscription fees (Free: €0/month; Pro: flat monthly fee) for platform access and tools.
Camperspay a 3% Platform booking fee on each reservation. This fee is added to the camper's checkout total and charged to the camper — not to the campsite owner. The campsite owner receives their full nightly rate; the 3% booking fee is a separate charge collected from the camper by the Platform.
Where these Terms refer to "booking fee" or "Platform booking fee" without further qualification, the fee is the 3% charge collected from the camperat checkout unless the context expressly states otherwise.
Intermediary Disclaimer
The campsite owner is the merchant of record for your stay: your booking is a contract between you and the campsite owner, who supplies the accommodation and is responsible for it. The Platform is not a party to any booking or agreement between campers and campsite owners, and does not control, guarantee, or assume responsibility for the quality, safety, availability, or accuracy of any campsite listing or booking made through the Platform.
The Platform acts only as the payment and booking intermediary: it operates the payment infrastructure that processes your payment on the campsite owner's behalf and separately collects the disclosed Platform booking fee described above. Acting as payment intermediary does not make the Platform a party to your booking.
You acknowledge and agree that all bookings are made directly between you and the campsite owner, and any disputes or issues arising from such bookings are solely between you and the campsite owner. The Platform is not liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising from such bookings.
Owner Responsibility
Campsite owners are solely responsible for the content of their listings, including but not limited to:
- Accurate and complete information about the campsite
- Pricing and availability details
- Compliance with local laws and regulations
- Ensuring the campsite is safe and suitable for booking
- Fulfilling bookings in accordance with the terms agreed upon
The Platform does not verify the accuracy or safety of campsite listings, and users are advised to conduct their own due diligence before making any bookings.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or any booking made through it.
Our aggregate liability to you for any claims related to the Platform or its services is limited to the total amount of fees paid by you in the last 12 months. This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In the specific case of Platform shutdown or discontinuation, our liability to a camper is further limited to the 3% Platform booking fee actually collected from that camper in respect of their booking. No consequential, indirect, or special loss arising solely from the Platform ceasing to operate is recoverable, regardless of whether such loss was foreseeable.
Service Shutdown / Discontinuation
We may suspend or terminate the Platform at any time, with or without cause. In the event of a planned shutdown, we will endeavour to provide at least 30 days' notice to registered users, unless immediate action is required for legal or safety reasons.
No monetary compensation or damages are payable solely as a result of the Platform ceasing to operate. For bookings already paid at the time of shutdown, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected parties and initiate Stripe refunds for the 3% Platform booking fee collected from the camper. Our liability in connection with a shutdown is capped at the booking fee (3% of the camper's total booking amount) actually collected from that camper in respect of their booking and excludes all consequential, indirect, or special loss.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 20, you have the right to receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format before the Platform ceases to operate. You may submit a data export request via our Data Subject Access Request page. We will make reasonable efforts to honour such requests within the notice period prior to shutdown.
Campsite Application Rejection
The Platform reserves the right to reject any application for campsite registration at its sole discretion. The Platform may deem an applicant or campsite unsuitable for any lawful reason, including but not limited to: incomplete or inaccurate application information, concerns regarding the suitability or safety of the proposed campsite, failure to meet the Platform's quality standards, or any other reason that the Platform reasonably believes could harm the Platform's reputation, the experience of other users, or the integrity of the marketplace.
The Platform is under no obligation to provide a detailed explanation for a rejection decision, though it will make reasonable efforts to communicate the general basis for rejection where appropriate. A rejection does not prevent an applicant from re-applying if the identified concerns have been addressed.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms if such failure or delay is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters, pandemics, or other public health emergencies
- Government actions, regulations, or court orders
- Acts of terrorism, war, or civil unrest
- Technical failures or infrastructure outages beyond our control
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Refunds for bookings made through the Platform are governed by the cancellation policy set by the individual campsite owner. The Platform does not guarantee refunds due to service disruptions, technical failures, or other circumstances beyond our control.
Cancellation Processing Costs
When a booking is cancelled by either party and a refund is issued to the camper, the Platform absorbs the Stripe payment processing fee (currently 1.4%–2.9% + €0.25 per transaction depending on card type) internally. The campsite owner does not bear any Stripe processing cost arising from a cancellation. The camper is refunded the full booking amount they paid, including the 3% Platform booking fee, where the cancellation entitles them to a full refund under the owner's stated cancellation policy or applicable law.
Platform booking fee on cancellation. The 3% booking fee is refundable to the camper in full when: (a) the campsite owner cancels the booking, or (b) the camper cancels and is entitled to a full refund under the owner's cancellation policy. In all cases, the Platform bears the Stripe processing cost of the refund and does not pass this cost to the owner or the camper. The 3% booking fee is non-refundable only where the camper cancels outside the owner's refund window, except where required by applicable consumer protection law.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Swedish courts.
EU consumers retain all statutory rights available under their local law, including rights under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and applicable data protection legislation such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights you may have as a consumer under mandatory local law.
Chargeback Liability Cap
Where a camper initiates a chargeback or dispute with their card issuer in respect of a booking made through the Platform, the campsite owner's maximum liability is limited as follows:
- Per disputed booking:the owner's liability is capped at the net booking amount (the total amount paid by the camper, excluding the Platform's 3% booking fee).
- Per calendar month:the owner's aggregate chargeback liability is capped at the lower of (a) five times the net booking amount of the single largest disputed booking in that month, or (b) the total net booking revenue received by the owner through the Platform in the preceding 30 days.
The Platform's 3% booking fee is non-refundable in the event of a chargeback, except where required by applicable law. Owners are solely responsible for resolving legitimate disputes arising from their campsite operations. The Platform will use reasonable efforts to provide transaction evidence to the owner to assist in disputing unwarranted chargebacks, but cannot guarantee successful resolution with the card issuer.
Dispute Reserve Fund Policy
To manage chargeback exposure on behalf of all Platform participants, the Platform maintains a rolling reserve. A rolling reserve is a percentage of each owner's gross booking revenue retained by the Platform for a fixed period and then released back to the owner after that period has elapsed without a corresponding chargeback.
The current rolling reserve parameters are:
- Reserve rate: 5% of each gross booking amount is withheld at the time of payout.
- Release period: Reserved funds are released to the owner 90 days after the checkout date of the corresponding booking, provided no chargeback or dispute has been raised.
- Application:If a chargeback is upheld against a booking within the 90-day window, the disputed amount is first deducted from the reserved funds for that booking before any claim is made against the owner's connected Stripe account.
The Platform reserves the right to adjust the reserve rate or release period on 30 days' notice to campsite owners, for example in response to elevated chargeback activity or changes in payment processor requirements. Reserve funds are held in a segregated Stripe Connect reserve account and earn no interest. Owners can view their current reserve balance in the Platform dashboard.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in law, platform features, or business operations. When material changes are made, we will notify registered users by email and display a notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
